I have it in an enclosure for a portable hard drive, but they work quite well for laptops and small form factor PCs. These appear to run very cool, so no active cooling should be required beyond what heatsinks are on it and your motherboard or enclosure. Given that they draw such little power, they work exceedingly well for portable storage, and some phones with OTG capabilities can even see the drive with the right setup. The size is only 500GB, though, so you wont be using this for anything impressive in size. Great for a main OS drive, though.

This drive is a very fast drive. I wish my Windows PC had a boot drive this fast. So far it seems very stable and I have not had any issues with it. The computer I put it in had issues and I could not install Windows or Linux. I tried several M.2 NVMe size drives and this one was the only one that worked like a champ. I installed both Linux and Windows on it with out any problems.
The only issue I have is that this form factor is so small, most motherboards don't have screw mounts to hold it in place. I put this in a mini PC (NUC) and even it didn't have a way to mount it. I was able to install the SSD and hold it in place with a 3D printed part I made. Hopefully more motherboard manufacturers will support this size drive.

I later figured out it was for a Surface Pro 7+. Mine is not upgradable. That's my fault. Instead, I purchased an M.2 SSD Enclosure so I could use it as an external hard drive. The drive formatted with no issues. I only have USB 3.1 with PCIe 3 on my Surface Pro 7 so I can't achieve the full speed but I can tell you it is twice as fast as a Samsung Pro Plus 512gb microSD card I have in the expansion slot of my Surface Pro 7. It also works great on my desktop computer with standard USB 2.x.
I scanned the drive using Validrive and it confirmed the 500gb size and showed no read errors over the entire surface.
My drive enclosure has a fan and thermal stickers. The enclosure barely gets warm.
So far I'm quite happy with this drive.

As long as there is some form of RAID backup, I feel a bit safer. Given the prices point for the size, it is functional and the performance is acceptable. It's not as fast as a comparable Samsung or Intel drive, but the quality is far and I feel justified in the purchase.

I used it in a mini pc with a 4x slot and only got about 3800 mbps read/write speeds. Connected it to an external Thunderbolt 5 enclosure and got the same speeds. Nothing close to what it says it can get to. Compared to other cards of this capacity and size it's priced okay. I would shop around and make sure that you don't get this specifically for the noted speeds but otherwise it seems to be working good.

I fixed that by going to disk management on windows and initializing the drive, then formatting it. Now it works and it's very fast.
